Maoz, the smart and economical home heating solution.
The system is a solution is developed by an Israel-based start-up that uses the energy from the existing home air conditioning unit to heat water for shower use and for the central heating system. The company developed upon the invention of the concept of Maoz which was invented by Dr. Aharon Brandstetter ,who passed away a few years ago.
Our system was born from a real need for an affordable energy source to heat every home , our solution cut the high costs on the one-hand and is enviromental friendly on the other hand as it uses electricity and not fossil fuels.
Home heating solution like central heating systems that use fossile fuels can be effective and reliable yet they are expensive and have a high environmental cost. Dr. Brandstetter’s idea is based on the one hand on the usage of the most efficient heating source -the heat pump technology and on the other recognizing that every home has a heat pump – the home air conditioning unit.
Dr. Brandstetter took a home’s basic air conditioning unit and connected it to a heat exchanger. The result was a water heating heat pump that is three time more efficient then a fuel-based system. This first system was built in 1997 and still heats Dr. Brandstetter’s home in Kfar-Vradim, Israel. More prototypes soon followed in other locations to prove the system. Mr. Sharon Brandstetter, Aharon’s son, has continued the development of the system further, to create a fully manufactured user-friendly unit, as it is today.
The system is suitable for different climates, it is installed and working in the cool mountain peaks of the north and in the coastal planes of Israel. The Maoz system provides the hot water needed to power an underfloor water based central heating system by using the efficiency of the existing air conditioning unit.
We achieve the best of both worlds- the high quality and comfort of an under-floor heating system with the efficiency and cheap price of the air-conditioner.
Our products provide huge energy saving, of some 70% in both for the home heating energy usage and for the DHW energy usage.
Due to these savings and the fact we connect just a small size unit to the existing air conditioner, we are able to offer the great quality heating of central heating systems as a simple and affordable option for every apartment with the extra benefit of endless hot water for DHW.
